This morning, I was watching Election Day live videos on NYTimes.com and sharing my opinions with people from around the world in the Twitter community. Thanks to these cutting-edge technologies, we feel no time difference at all.
If you’re wondering how Chinese TV networks covered this historic American presidential election, here’s a video clip from CCTV-4 announcing Obama has become “the first black female pre… uh, first black president in American history.”

@Kaiser Kuo
glad to get a response and i believe you ara a vip in youku?! now here’s my personal interactive experiences with youku so far:
when the name ‘Wang Qianyuan’ became a buzz word, i uploaded an rare interview with her by some media guy in the belief that this video could provide people with some valuable information besides calling names and worse, even personal and physical, attacks. this vid get REMOVED 7 times before i’m convinced i’m youkully ‘wrong’ to provide that information.
when the name ’sanlu’ became a buzz word, i picked up a vid uploaded by flypigdotorg on YOUTUBE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7M643YCJhk) and reloaded it on youku. (http://www.danwei.org/featured_video/sanlu_milk_powder_covers_sahar.php) as you can see now, the vid i uploaded is experiencing some technical difficulties.
of course there are reasons behind that, only i’m too arrogant to know.
in case you didn’t notice, this is the first time i see the CCTV 4 logo in like four or five years so i’m being sarcastic when i say GOD BLESS THEM. i watch phoenixtv most of the time and now i’m watching taiwanese television. so they are ‘Chinese language TV Networks’ to me. EXCEPT FOR its unprofessionalness and imposed ‘news view’ which has been mocked in countless times by us netizens, CCTV is hard to ignore. but i take my chances.
but youku is different. i watch simpsons and south park on youku. faster. and with subtitles. in chinese. maybe some ads interrupting while i’m watching but no harm done. you don’t get that on YOUTUBE after all. and i randomly checked out the latest hot vids on youku to see how the world is going on from youku’s view. so
GOOD LUCK!
