Crazy Dancing in Henan

Well… First of all, if you want to remain in good holiday cheer for Christmas Eve, please just skip this crazy video. It contains neither violent scenes nor strong language, but left me feeling very uncomfortable after watching it.
There’s no more information about the video except that the sequences were captured by a Youku user in a small village of Henan. I can’t even tell it’s a funeral or wedding. A funeral, huh? Yep. In rural Chinese villages, funerals could be unbelievably noisy.
Again, some users are provoked somehow. “There are a bunch of people bringing shame on Henan purposely. There must be something wrong with Youku’s editor. Why did they add ‘Henan’ in the title? You can see their crowd psychology through this behavior. I don’t know if there’s evidence that can prove this really happened in Henan. And I’m not from Henan. I just hope the editors can be rational.”
Hmm… The editor didn’t modify the video clip’s title, which was indeed named by the user who uploaded the video. Please, please calm down.

Hey, I’m Henanese by ancestry (yo yo! 舞阳县 in da house! Big shout out to all you Henan homies!) and I’m damned proud of our official provincial funerary dance customs. Merry freakin’ Christmas!

It’s some entertainment for the guests during a wedding — didn’t you catch in the video someone wearing red flower badge? Obviously it’s a wedding. As weird or sad as it may look like, it’s the kind of entertainment affordable for hundreds of millions.
