Mystery Solved: “Arm-Swinging Man” vid a Sony Ericsson Viral

So it turns out that the video we posted earlier wasn’t, as many of us suspected, just something a random subway rider happened to capture. Nor was the device the man was holding an iPhone: Rather, it was a Sony Ericsson F305c, as my colleague Steven “Flypig” Lin managed to figure out. (An anonymous individual pointed the way in a comment on Steven’s post on the Apple4.us blog here.)

Sony Ericsson’s got the video on this product page if you click on the link that says 精彩视频 in the lower-left. Definitely one of the more clever viral ads I’ve seen, though arguably it’s just a wee bit too subtle. One might actually wonder whether Sony Ericsson inadvertently did a bit of viral advertising for Apple in this case…

Totally unsurprising. The video was funny, but looked rigged. Seriously, I grew up watching the Three Stooges in the USA. I know a pratfall when I see one. I did think it was an iPhone though. Oops.
