Bad-Ass Junior: Kung-Fu Kid Guo Siping
Posted on Mar 3, 2009 by Kaiser Kuo | Filed under: OMFG
This clip, shot by the understandably proud parents of young Guo Siping (郭巳平), shows the 2008 championship round of of the “Sunshine Kids” contest on Shanxi Satellite TV, in which their 7-year-old Kung-Fu prodigy shows off some mad skills. In the captioning written by his folks in the video below, it says Guo was born on May 29, 2001 — so he’s still a few months shy of 8 as of this writing. He was trained at Jingwu Martial Arts Hall in Jingcheng, Shanxi, at age 5, and won renown in his first competitive match later that year. He’s won a number of martial arts awards, including the first prize at the municipal and provincial levels, as well as a gold medal at the National Star Torch Awards, whatever those are. He’s also bound for the big screen: He’s apparently won himself a film contract. So we might be looking at the next Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, or Jet Li here, folks.
Here you can find a whole bunch of videos of this kid at various competitions along his brief but eventful rise to Kung-Fu bad-assedness.
