China Telecom 3G Speed Test

Here’s a short video of a download speed test of China Telecom’s trial 3G wireless network, which is on the CDMA 2000 1x EV-DO standard. (We usually hear about China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA network, foisted on them by regulators against their wishes, and the “European” standard WCDMA network that will be operated by China Netcom).
The user starts downloading a 490.17 MB file using the popular download accelerator Xunlei, and as you can see, it reaches speeds of close to 300 kbps, which is considerably faster than you can do using ADSL at home. I want!

It seems to be kB/s rather than kbps, 8 times faster.

@ subo04040, absolutely, you’re right, my mistake. You don’t know how many times I’ve criticized that in others, and I’m sorely embarrassed to have made the same error myself!
